Perth's best and favourite Pirates escape room is now playing at Escape This Northbridge AND Escape This Perth CBD! You'll find our Pirates escape room at 48 Lake St in Northbridge, and at 712-720 Hay St Mall in the heart of the Perth CBD.

Pirates CBD has a difficulty rating of 6 out of 10. A nice entry point for first time players and switched on kids. Pirates is not too hard, not too easy. Absolutely! Pirates is a fan favoruite room with children's groups who love the immersive feel of finding themselves aboard a pirate ship. And whilst it is a very popular room with children, adults love it too! So, it's a great choice for a family outing.

A few rules though:

1. We welcome children from age 7 to play as paid participants in a family group, though do recommend 9+ years is more suitable for maximum room engagement and enjoyment.
2. Groups with children aged 9 and under require a parent or guardian be in the room as a paid participant.
3. If the group contains children aged 10-13 years, then an adult must remain onsite for the duration of the booking but does not need to accompany the group into the room.
4. If the whole group is 14 and older no adult needs to remain on site.
5. Children under 3 years old may accompany their parents as spectators in the room, at our discretion, without charge, though they do always count towards the room’s player capacity.

We welcome children from 7 years old to play as paid guests as part of a family group. Children under the age of 7 years may attend as spectators only, and will count towards total player numbers in any room for fire safety reasons.

At Escape This, all bookings are exclusive to your group. This has always been (and will remain to be) our policy before, during and after Covid.

If you want to be locked in a room with a group of people you have never met before (some people do!) then we recommend you try another escape room experience provider.

Absolutely, if you want to book multiple escape rooms, including Pirates CBD, to start at the same time. Please use our multi room booker to check availability and place a booking. 

You certainly can! If you have ever considered dressing up for your escape room experience we encourage you to do so. Come as Captain Blackbeard, Johnny Depp, Jack Sparrow or a lowly deckhand. Remember, bonus points if your group can speak like pirates from start to finish!

You'll have one hour from going below decks and entering the Captain's Quarters to find the diamond and escape over the ship. We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time and if you allow for 15 minutes afterwards, to catch your breath and debrief, your whole experience will last up to 90 minutes. You may be one of the lucky ones to escape earlier, in which case your time with us may be shorter.

The maximum group size that the Pirates escape room can accomodate is 8 people.

Our group limits are set to optimise gameplay and ensure a truly immersive experience for all our guests. Fortunately for you, it is company policy to never compromise on your gameplay experience so these limits are NOT flexible! 

If your group is larger than 8 players we suggest that you book multiple rooms to start at the same time and split your group across the rooms. Thus ensuring the very best experience for everyone in your group.

First time escapers will find Pirates quite challenging but it remains a very popular choice for first timers. So yes it's a great choice and our gamesmasters will be on hand to offer any extra clues if you need them.

Spoken cues and clues are a key element of our escape rooms. Presently, these cues are only available in English, though we are working towards multi-language options. To ensure the best escape experience in the meantime, we recommend that the majority of your player group should be fluent in English.

The first room in Pirates is wheelchair accessible, but the second room has a narrow door that does not suit wheelchair users. If your team includes one or more wheelchair users, we recommend choosing another room at our Perth CBD venue.

Like all escape rooms, Pirates is a controlled lighting environment. It may feature periods of complete darkness and/or flashing lights. Similarly, you might experience confined spaces and/or jump scares during your escape. If you have any concerns or questions, please raise these with our Gamesmasters at check-in.
