The Possession has a difficulty rating of 8 out of 10.  With complex puzzles, the focus is still on fun, interactivity, and immersiveness... but with some added challenge thrown in for good measure. The Possession provides an outstanding balance between completing the game without too much frustration and giving players a thrilling experience.

Highly recommended for date nights, bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate events, and team building activities where you really want to put your team's problem solving skills to the test. Learn more about our difficulty levels here.

Van Helsing is a 13+ room, and we reserve the right to check ID before admitting players to the room.

Children under 13 as participants or spectators are not permitted in Van Helsing. No exceptions will be made.

The easiest way to book Van Helsing is through our online booking button

Fever shows live availability and all bookings are confirmed immediately. It's the quickest and best way to secure your desired time slot.

At Escape This, all bookings are exclusive to your group. This has always been (and will remain to be) our policy before, during and after Covid.

If you want to be locked in a room with a group of people you have never met before (some people do!) then we recommend you try another escape room experience provider.

Absolutely, if you want to book multiple escape rooms, including Van Helsing, to start at the same time. Please use our multi-room booker for Escape This Melbourne CBD.

You will be able to see availablilities, and book accordingly for all the rooms in our Melbourne CBD Escape Room Center.

You certainly can! If you have ever considered dressing up for your escape room experience we encourage you to do so. Van Helsing is set in the not to distant past so come as Van Helsing, Dracula, a vampire hunter or in your finest Victorian era attire! Whatever you choose to wear please wear closed footwear and, ideally, something that is comfortable to move around in.

You'll have one hour from entering

We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time and if you allow for 15 minutes afterwards, to catch your breath and debrief, your whole experience will last around 90 minutes. If, however, you are amongst the lucky few that escape Dracula then your time with us may be a little shorter!

The minimum group size is 2 people due to the difficulty and logistics of some of the puzzles, while the maximum group size that our Van Helsing escape room can accommodate is 8 people.

Our group limits are set to optimise gameplay and ensure a truly immersive experience for all our guests. Fortunately for you, it is company policy to never compromise on your gameplay experience so these limits are NOT flexible!

If your group is larger than 8 players we suggest that you book multiple rooms to start at the same time and split your group across the rooms. Thus ensuring the very best experience for everyone in your group.

Van Helsing requires a moderate level of English reading comprehension. As escape rooms are team-based, participation is still possible if at least one team member is comfortable.

Van Helsing is a challenging room with intermediate level puzzles. Ideally, if this is your first escape room, other members fo your group will have played a few rooms before. For a group of purely first time escapers we would recommend trying Pirates or  Magic University

Like all escape rooms, Van Helsing is a controlled lighting environment. It may feature periods of complete darkness and/or flashing lights. Similarly, you might experience confined spaces and/or jump scares during your escape. If you have any concerns or questions, please raise these with our Gamesmasters at check-in.
